That has a certain unquatifiable quality to it that means that actions have to be more thought out. Their gameplay stems from a deeper more involved system. There is a reason why crusader kings and victoria 2 are so beloved. Thid system results in a game where there is little to strategise beyond howuch you want to save your monarch points for a certain avtion. I think the number one reason imperator flopped was because of the simplistic and very abstract mana system copied from eu4. This systems shortcomings came to a head with imperator. It makes it very difficult to simulate a deeper strategic game as a large part of the actions you can take are tied to a number that accumilates over time and has a randomness to it that makes it frustrating as the player cant do anything about the skill of their ruler. But over the years this system showed its limitations. When eu4 launched the mana system was way better than the system used by eu3.
